This is a Chuck Connors Brooklyn Dodgers baseball card and newspaper article written by Connors detailing his most embarrassing moment. It involved Willie Mays and took place when he was playing first base for the Cubs during a game against the Giants. Willie was able to distract Connors long enough to steal second by asking Connors to recite "Casey at the Bat".
I removed the card from the frame to determine the year. It is a 1985 Baseball Cards Magazine card. Framing of the card and article is home-made . It is secured in place with a taped-on cardboard backing but tape has started to dry out and should be remounted.
Connors is better known today as TV's "The Rifleman" from 1958-1963. He played for the Dodgers just one season, 1949, before joining the Cubs in 1951.
I have other baseball items listed and will gladly combine shipping on multiple purchases.
