This book, published in 1862, is a very intereting piece of alternative history - Pro-slavery propaganda from the Civil War, in which the book's author, M. T. Wheat, attempts to state his case through the citation and personal interpreation of the Book of Genesis.

Second Edition. 595 + [1] + XX pages, bound , with frontispiece, in black buckram with gilt lettering on spine. Hinges are strong. The textblock is tight and square, and the pages are intact. From frontispiece & title page to page 43, there is moderate to heavy gray spotting; from page II (at rear) to XX, there is mild spotting. Light application of marginalia. Vast majority of pages are clean. Slight edgewear. Ex-library.
