COBALT BLUE 1860 BLOB TOP J. W. HARRIS SODA BOTTLE

This Soda bottle is embossed with the words: J. W. Harris" soda water, NEW HAVEN CONN.

It is colbalt blue in color and  as neer perfect an a 149 year old bottle can be. I surmised the age because I recovered it from a dock that has not been used since 1860, The bottle is also listed in a book on cicil war bottles and I found a item on on the bottle that listed J. W harris soda water as being made from 1845 to 1860. This bottle does not have a pontil base so I doubt it is earlier than 1860.

The only thing I have done to this bottle is wash it. It is exactly as I recovered it. There are only a few light scraches on the body and the top is chip free. The top does have some areas that can be felt and they feel and look like pits.  The bottle is loaded with bubbles and these pits look like bubbles that are too close to the edge.
