I TURNED THIS SET FROM SOME COCOBOLO, OR MEXICAN ROSEWOOD, I HAVE BEEN TURNING A LOT OF THIS WOOD BECAUSE A SHIPMENT CAME IN TO ONE OF MY SUPPLIERS AND I HAD TO BUY SOME, IT WAS BEAUTIFUL WOOD, MADE A STUNNING SET.

COCOBOLO IS KNOWN AND SOUGHT AFTER FOR IT'S COLORS OF RED, ORANGE, BLACK, BROWN & SOMETIMES PURPLE. IT IS A VERY HEAVY, DENSE & OILY HARDWOOD. TURNS AND FINISHES LIKE GLASS! AFTER SANDING I TREAT WITH TUNG OIL & THEN SHOOT WITH SEVERAL COATS OF LAQUOR TO PROTECT THE WOOD.

THIS SET HAS A 24 CT GOLD PLATE HARDWARE SET ON IT THAT WAS TREATED AT THE FACTORY TO RESIST TARNISH.

THE PENS TAKE A STANDARD BALLPOINT AND THE PENCIL TAKES A .5 LEAD.
