This is a nice and complete Collins R-388 51J-3 Military HF radio Receiver.  The faceplate, all knobs, and dials are in very nice condition.

I checked this radio, and it receives very well ONLY on bands #2 and #3. I checked the crystal osc. and do not have 4MHz from the first mixer crystal. This is a 30 band AM MCW HF Radio receiver .5 - 30.5MHz. Bands 2 & 3 are single conversion. Bands 4-30 are double conversion. Band 1 is triple conversion.

I could not find the proper 4MHz crystal and I would rather sell the radio than keep it around the shop. Everything else seems to be fine (PTO and mechanisms operate fine). However I am not extensively experienced with this type receiver and do not promise that this radio only needs a crystal. I am selling it AS-IS. I wish you success!

I am including some manuals and schematics that I have on a CD.
