~~A learning tool for the Visual and Tactile learner~~

You are bidding on a color  and size sorting activity, which includes the following  items:

• 1~Soap Correspondence Chart (SCC)--8 1/2" x 11" laminated cardstock.  This chart is easily adapted with velcro, which can be purchased at any craft of superstore.  Used as a sorting matching template for soap card manipulatives.  
• 1~Soap Size Correspondence Grid (SSCG)-This 11" x 3" grid is laminated cardstock.  It enables students/child to sort by size only-small, medium, large providing visual cues based on the size of the space for each respective size.  
• 3~Soap Dish Sorting Containers~pastel colors: pink, yellow and green.   You will receive one of each color cupcake.  They are intended to used for storage and during task completion.    Kids love these containers and they provide a great fine motor workout
• Soap Cards (laminated cardstock: 1 of each color in small, medium and large)
• Word cards for attaching with a color coded paper clip to their respective size object.
• Paper clips:  3 of each color to match size word cards to soap cards.
• Instruction Sheet (includes some recommended script to read to promote imaginative play, and some extension actitivies).
• Teacher/Parent Checklist (lists suggested areas of observation). *Can be used for administrative purposes.

~~The materials in this kit can be used to promote a variety of cognitive skills; one-to-one correspondence, counting, matching, spatial concepts (sizes), visual acuity, literacy, health and safety and imaginative playskills, expressive and receptive language skills, and fine motor skills due to the need to identify and attach the correct size word to its respective soap card.  One of the greatest things about this kit is that kids love these containers and want to practive opening and closing them.  It may even help address imaginative playskills whether in insolation or as part of an integrated playgroup situation.  ~Enjoy!

~~Just a side note, simple activities such as this one allow children to use process skills, which helps them organize the world around them.  In this particular activity, soap cards cards are placed on a correspondence chart based on color and size.  According to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), they support the use of simple sorting and classifying activities within early childhood learning environments.  Because of my involvement with early learning/preschool learning environments, I have used and tested many of these types of activities and think that you will enjoy it too. Due to the hands-on nature of this activity, this activity would work best for children ages 3 and up.  ~~  Enjoy!
