Is there a Buy It Now for this item?  I saw a Buy It Now button earlier - What happened to the Buy It Now button?

If you see a Buy It Now button in the listing above, there is a Buy It Now, otherwise there is no Buy It Now.  In most cases, the option to Buy It Now goes away if someone places a bid on the item (per eBay procedure).

 

I am willing to offer $ ______ for your item right now - will you accept my offer / can you post a Buy It Now?

If the item is a common item and your offer meets or exceeds the average eBay selling price for similar items, your offer will most likely be accepted.  If the item is unique or your offer is less than the average selling price (for a similar common item), your offer will most likely be rejected (and not likely responded to).  If your offer is accepted we will post a Buy It Now price and inform you of the change.

 

Why are you selling this item?

Because we want the money we hope to earn from the sale of the item more than we want the item.  If there is any other significant information related to the reason we are selling the item and the item's current condition, we will include such information. 

 

How do I pay for the item?  How long after I win the auction do I have to pay for the item?  Besides the winning bid amount, how much am I responsible for?

We usually send an invoice to the winning bidder within 48 hours of the end of the auction, however you don't need an invoice to pay, unless there are changes to shipping charges or other exceptions.  If you don't receive an invoice and you need one to pay, or if you are in Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico, please contact us. The sooner you pay, the sooner the item is shipped and the sooner you will receive the item.  The longer you wait to pay, the more likely there will be a significant delay in your item being delivered*.  Unless other arrangements are made, payment is required within 7 days of the end of the auction.  If you have not paid after 7 days, and have not contacted us to make other payment arrangements, a non paying bidder notification will automatically be filed with eBay and the item may be relisted.    Unless otherwise specifically stated, you (the buyer) pay all taxes, duties, shipping, handling, and insurance charges.

How long after I pay should I expect shipment / delivery of my item?  I need it ASAP - If I Buy It Now can you ship it immediately?

Although eBay allows us up to 5 days (after receiving cleared payment) to ship, we usually ship items within 72 hours (after receiving cleared payment, excluding weekends).  Delivery time varies with shipping method - FedEx Ground usually takes 3 - 5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays), USPS Priority Mail is usually 2-3 days (excluding Sundays and holidays), USPS Parcel Post can take 7 or more days.  These delivery times apply to destinations within the continental U.S. - Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico may increase delivery times.  Please see the question above regarding payment time as well as SHIPPING FAQs below for more details.  If you need us to rush the item to the shipper, please contact us before bidding to confirm we can and will accommodate you - generally we may be willing to do so if the item is of significant value (per it's selling price), and you are willing to pay an additional rush charge (whatever that may be).

Why did you cancel my bid or block me as a seller?

The information we provide is based primarily on the item's current apparent and functional condition, not on its history, source, past use, or previous owner.  If there are any significant issues you cannot explicitly discern from the pictures, i.e. the smell of smoke, we will note such issues in the listing.

 

You say the item is in "excellent" condition - does that mean it's brand new, & perfect?

NO. Most of the items we sell are used and as such may have some sort of defect, imperfection, or irregularity (compared to new).  We do our best to describe the current condition of our items based on appearance and whatever testing, if any, we can reasonably do.  Please read the description and look at the pictures and bid accordingly.

 

I am making an assumption about the item you are selling and/or your policies that defies common sense and/or is based on something that’s not in the pictures or written description of this listing or any correspondence between us – is that okay?

WARRANTY / RETURNS

What are the details of this item’s warranty?

WARRANTY = NOT DOA: If the WARRANTY says “NOT DOA”, such warranty will cover basic, objective functionality only - you have the amount of time listed from delivery to notify us if the item arrives "dead" (DOA).  You may return the item for a replacement or refund of your original shipping and purchase price (return shipping is not refunded - please see below for more details)

Does your "NOT DOA" warranty cover anything beyond basic, objective functionality?

NO. No returns or refunds for subjective issues such as "I don't like it", "wrong part", "wrong size", "wrong color", or cosmetic defects beyond what is described or pictured, unless there is a significant typographical or photographical error in the actual listing.  There is no implicit or explicit warranty beyond what is specifically stated in the item description above.   We are not liable in any way for any damage or injury resulting from the use of the items we sell, regardless of warranty.  The extent of liability, if any, is the purchase price of the item.

 

If there is a need to return a DOA item to you (the seller), will I (the buyer) have to pay return shipping charge?

YES. Per typical PayPal procedures, the buyer pays for return shipping charges, even if the item arrives DOA. There are no refunds for return shipping costs related to warranty issues.  The maximum we will refund will be the original cost of the item plus the original shipping charges.  We will not refund return shipping charges or other handling costs you may incur in returning an item such as travel, time, inconvenience, etc - Please consider this risk you are taking and bid accordingly - If you don't agree to assume this risk, please DO NOT BID!.

 

If I have to return an item to you, should I pack it up and send it back exactly the way I received it?

YES. Returns must be repacked in the original packing materials in the way they were received (otherwise you may void the warranty or forfeit any shipping insurance claim if the item is damaged during return).  We highly recommend that you use the same shipper and method to return the item to us.  We also recommend insuring expensive/heavy/fragile items being returned, even if the item arrives to you DOA.  This will ensure the best, safest, and most economical return shipping (remember, you will not be refunded or reimbursed for return shipping or handling charges - see preceding question and answer.

 

If I have to return an item to you, will I get a replacement item or a refund?

If the item is DOA, and the WARRANTY listed above states "NOT DOA", we will repair the item and return it to you, or provide a replacement if possible, after we receive the item being returned (return shipping at your cost.) If we cannot repair the item, or provide a suitable replacement, we will refund you the original shipping and purchase price (winning bid amount).

 

If I have to return an item to you for a refund, when do I get my refund?

Per eBay and PayPal procedures, a refund will be issued only after the item being returned has been received and accepted by the seller.

 

If I get the item and it doesn’t work, and I try to disassemble, fix ,or modify it myself (or I have someone else try to), does it void any warranty?

YES. Unauthorized disassembly, repair, or modification voids any applicable warranty.  We will not be responsible for any repair charges you incur without our explicit authorization.  If an item is DOA (arrives dead/broken), and you choose to repair/modify it (or have it repaired/modified), you must contact us prior to taking further action.  Otherwise any warranty is void and any repair/modification is at your own risk and cost, which we will not refund.

 

I assume that if this is a new item, you will warranty it as such, right?

NO - Our statement of an item's current physical condition and appearance is NOT a statement of the item’s sales history, or existence/status of any warranty from us (the seller) or the manufacturer.

We are simply offering this item for sale; we are not a distributor, dealer, retailer, or “official reseller” of this product and therefore we are not authorized or obliged to any degree to extend whatever manufacturer's warranty there may be. 

Our warranty is limited to what is stated in the WARRANTY section of the actual item description - beyond that, we can only offer a return if there is a significant typographical or photographical error.   Otherwise, please consider the item AS-IS, no return, no refund.  This applies to all items, including those listed as “new” or “brand new” - An item may be new still sealed in its original package - if so, we obviously cannot test or thoroughly examine it and therefore cannot warranty it.   That being said, please keep in mind if the item is new, it is highly unlikely that there will be any problems with it - please bid accordingly. 

 

In the event the item is damaged in shipping, when do I get a refund?  Do I get to keep the damaged item? 

You will receive a full refund AFTER the damaged item is returned to us (the seller) AND after the shipper pays the claim (or notifies us the claim has been denied).  If a shipper does not pay a shipping damage insurance claim, you still must return the damaged item to us before you will be issued a refund.  You do not get to keep the damaged item (unless we negotiate otherwise)

 

SHIPPING

How will this item be shipped - USPS ("Post Office") or FedEx Ground?  

We base our flat rate shipping quote on the fastest, safest, and most economical shipping possible according the item's size, weight, and value.  Smaller/lighter/less expensive items (smaller than a shoebox/less than 3 lbs/sold for less than $100) will be shipped USPS Parcel Post (or Priority Mail / Flat Rate Box if feasible) without insurance.  Larger/heavier/more expensive items will normally be shipped FedEx Ground, with $100 automatic insurance (or according to the sale price, whichever is greater).  You must provide a physical address, NOT a PO Box for this type of item, or be willing to pay additional shipping charges if you need the item shipped to a PO Box.  

 

Does the shipper you are using ship to my ZIPCode?  What if you ship the item and it can't be delivered?

We ship with the USPS and FedEx.  Both shippers can ship to just about anywhere, however there are a few places where they (especially FedEx) may not deliver to.  We do not guarantee delivery to any and all locations - If you think you will need delivery to an area where delivery might not be possible, please check with the shipper before you bid to confirm the item can be delivered to you.

You are responsible to provide an accurate address suitable for delivery of the item you purchase.  If an item is returned to us because it is refused or otherwise not deliverable to the address you provided, we will re-ship the item only after you confirm the address is suitable for delivery with the shipper being used, correct and accurate, and you are ready and willing to receive it, and pay for the re-shipment.

 

What if I want a different shipping method or special packaging?  We pack our items appropriately based on the item's size, weight, and value.  If you require a different shipping method, special packaging beyond what's generally considered acceptable (or different from what's specifically stated in the listing - i.e. you want double boxing to keep a brand new item pristine for resale), or expedited shipping, additional shipping charges will be invoiced to you and collected before the item will ship.  Please contact us BEFORE you pay if you this applies.

 

What if I want the item shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico?

Depending on the size and weight of the item, shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto RIco may be more than the quoted flat rate.

 

I can't provide a physical address for shipment - I only have a P.O. Box; Will shipping cost more and take longer?

Probably, depending on the item's size, weight, and value.  Please see the first Question and Answer under SHIPPING above.

 

I want insurance - Is insurance included in the shipping quote, or will I have to pay more for it?

Maybe, depending on the item's size, weight, and value.  Larger/more expensive items are automatically insured for at least $100 when shipped via FedEx, however less expensive items sold for less than $100 and shipped via the USPS will not automatically have insurance. We are not responsible for uninsured items damaged, lost, or stolen in transit.  If you would like insurance on a less expensive item, please let us know before you pay.  Please see the first Question and Answer under SHIPPING above for more details.

 

I want an actual tracking number for something being shipped by the USPS (“the Post Office”), is that possible? 

YES, but only with the right shipping method - USPS Parcel Post and Priority Mail are NOT directly traceable/trackable shipping methods (as is FedEx) and are therefore not very accurate.  USPS "Track and Confirm" for Parcel Post and Priorty Mail only tell you where a package has been/is likely to be and possibly whether or not it's been delivered, not exactly where it is at any give moment (if it has not been delivered).  If you require a true tracking number, the item must be shipped USPS Express Mail or FedEx Ground, either of which will likely increase shipping cost above the quoted amount. 

 

You say you shipped my item several days ago but the USPS Track and Confirm still says the tracking information is unavailable - why?

In our (and many others) experience, the USPS Track and Confirm service is often not accurate/up to date.  In fact it may not ever be accurate until you actually receive the shipment.  For more information, please see the above question regarding tracking services or CLICK HERE for an eBay guide (by another eBay user) that describes the various shipper's tracking systems and their limitations.

 

If I need to ship something back, should I use the same shipper and method you used to ship it to me?

YES. You may choose to use any shipping service you like to return an item, but because we use the best and least expensive shipping method to save you money when we ship it to you initially, we highly recommend using the same shipper and type of service to return the item.    Please see the WARRANTY section above for more details on returning DOA items.

 

What if the item is damaged in shipping?

Please inspect the shipment upon arrival.  Notify the shipper of any damage immediately, then notify us of the damage right away so we can begin to resolve the issue. Do NOT ship the item back to us until the shipper has assessed the damaged and do NOT discard any packaging until the claim is settled. 

 

What if there is a need to return an item other than DOA or damaged - What if you ship me the wrong item and I need to ship it back to you?

In the very rare case where the item needs to be returned for a non-warranty issue (i.e. wrong item shipped to you) we will send you a prepaid shipping label which you can put on the package and ship it back.  If this is not feasible, and it becomes necessary for you to ship it back at your cost, we will only reimburse you the amount you paid to have the item shipped to you initially.  For example: If you receive an item USPS Parcel Post and decide to send it back FedEx Overnight, we will not reimburse the cost difference.  If it cost $10 to ship the incorrect item to you initially, we will ship the correct item to you for free plus reimburse you $10 to ship the incorrect item back.  

 

Will you combine items to lower shipping costs?

YES. We will combine multiple items to reduce shipping costs when possible, however, you must specifically request combined shipping for multiple items.  Please contact us if you win (or expect to win) multiple auctions and want the items shipped together.

 

Do you allow local pickup?

YES. We are South of Hillsboro, Oregon. Please contact us if you want to save shipping charges and pick the item up locally.   Items are generally available for pickup weekdays during daytime hours.  Saturday pickup may be possible.  Sunday pickup is not allowed.

 

Will you hand deliver the item to my location or meet me "halfway" to deliver the item?

MAYBE.  For large/heavy/fragile/more valuable items, usually, but with conditions (see below).  For small/light/durable/less valuable items, usually not (it's not worth it for either of us).  If the item meets our criteria for local hand delivery, or for meeting you somewhere locally, we will do so.  These options benefit both of us; we don't have to pack the item and you get the item quickly and even more safely than if it were shipped via FedEx or USPS (even across town there's a significant chance of shipping damage, especially with large/heavy/fragile items). 

Please realize that our time, effort, and gas money are just as valuable as yours.   Accordingly, we reserve the right (at our discretion) to collect up to the full standard delivery shipping charges (as quoted in the auction) for hand delivery to your location or a fraction of standard delivery shipping charges if we meet you somewhere locally.  Please contact us if you are interested in either of these delivery options - we will let you know how much they will cost.  Otherwise, you are more than welcome to pick the item up at our location and save the shipping charges.

 

If I specify that I want full standard delivery to a local address; might you still hand deliver the item?

YES.  We reserve the right (at our discretion) to hand deliver any item you have bought and paid for to the same address it would have normally been shipped to (as specified in your eBay/PayPal shipping information), even if you have already paid for shipping.  We will not refund any shipping charges if we hand deliver an item.

 

Will I be required to sign for an item that is picked up or delivered locally (or if I meet you somewhere)?

YES. In any case; local pickup at our location, delivery to your location, or meeting somewhere in between locally, you will need to sign a delivery receipt to confirm you have received the item.
