DOUBLE  F - Bb FRENCH HORN

 

This super vintage French Horn plays as great as it looks!  It has been completely overhauled and is ready to go to it’s new home.  Serial number is GL 840XXX  which dates it to Dec 1978.

This French Horn has been completely restored to like new condition. 

This is not your typical used instrument.  It has been completely taken apart, dents removed, carefully reassembled, highly polished and a beautiful new baked lacquer finish applied. The valves are excellent with new strings and bumpers.  A Conn hard case in like new condition is included. 

The overhaul was done by a respected local shop with over 40 years experience in woodwind and brass instrument restorations and repairs.  I have personally used this company for over 8 years for my band members and myself and have always been impressed with their work.  Some of their craftsmen worked at the HN White and King Instrument Company plants in Cleveland and Eastlake, Ohio.  The owner is a European craftsman with over 40 years experience. 

I've seen them do some amazing restorations.  Any wear and tear issues and even any quality issues from the original manufacturing would be corrected with the overhaul.  These guys really know what they are doing!  

The Conn 6D and 8D French Horns have long been the standard for advanced student and professional players.  The 6D is one of the models I highly recommend for advanced student and adult musicians.  Here’s your chance to get a great looking and playing instrument for a very reasonable price!

The pictures tell the story.  I personally play everything I sell, so there’s nothing to worry about.  I’m a band director and professional musician playing tuba to trumpet and everything in between.   If I wouldn’t have it in my house, I won’t send it to yours!

 

I’ve just collected too many instruments and other "horn stuff", between the community band that I direct (plus 3 others I play in – yes, I’m a little crazy!) and 2 kids that played in band in school.  It’s time to “thin out the herd”, so I’ll be listing some more instruments and “horn stuff” soon.
