The CROW Blade consists of a custom alloy steel blade (also known as a runner) and a white nylon blade holder that connects the blade to the skate boot. The holder is made of Bayer Corporation's impact modified Durethan BC 402 polyamide 6 resin.

The Durethan resin was selected for high impact resistance at low temperatures, stablility, consistency and high strength. Skate blade holders take a real pounding and must stand up to cold huckey pucks travelling at 115 mph or slashes from other player's blades - the Durethan resin holder is a superior product. The holders underwent extensive testing with a 5 pound sledge hammer!

The blade holder is shaped wider in the front and tapers back to the rear. The thickness varies, but the average is approximately 3/16". The custom alloy steel blade (runner) rests in a groove molded into the blade holder and firmly attaches to the holder through the use of 2 mechanical fasteners that slip through the molded-in holes. The tolerances for the blade holder are manufactured to less than a thousandth of an inch!
