CRYSTAL CASED GLASS GOBLETS WINEGLASSES Ten in 8 colors

You are viewing a radiant set of ten mouth blown and hand cut cased crystal goblets.  This lovely set is in complementary colors that add a sense of luxury to any table:

The bowl design features a combination of wine grapes and leaves, small palm fronds and starbursts framed with rectangular criss-crosses.  The faceted stems have 6 sides with beautiful cutwork adjoining the bowl.  The ridges of each stem facet are notched with very small indentations.  The circular bases have simple cuts all around the underside to reflect light even from the base of the glass! 

 

Individual characteristics are created in each piece by the glass blower and glass cutter in their original work.  You will notice slightly different weight, size of design and tiny air inclusions which enhance the value of these graceful cased crystal stems.

 

Casing is one of the most dramatic methods of adding color to crystal.  In this ancient technique, one or more layers of colored glass are fused to a base of clear crystal.  An expert glasscutter then cuts through the “casing” so that the underlying colors are revealed and incorporated into the design.  The genuine cased, mouth-blown, hand cut, 24% fine lead crystal wine glasses were designed to serve wine on special occasions like anniversaries, birthday parties, wedding ceremonies.

Although pre-owned, these goblets are in perfect condition with the exception of a tiny nick inside the rim of one of the red goblets.  No sign of wear was noticed on the others.  These beautiful goblets will make a splendid gift and an excellent home décor article!
