Cupie Paper Dolls in Full Color is an original Dover (1984) publication illustrated by Tom Tierney. Inspired by the dimpled cherub Cupid, Tierney has created an unusual paper doll book. Here are two roly-poly paper dolls - a Cupie boy and girl with red cheeks, topknots, tiny wings, and twinkling eyes. Each is two-sided, designed to be viewed front and rear. The saucer-eyed Cupies come with 14 delightful two-sided costumes. You can dress them in brightly colored Scottish kilts, in a charming Dutch girl outfit complete with wooden shoes, in a sailor suit, in a clown outfit, as a cowboy, as an Indian, or in a pink ballerina tutu. There also is a pink kimono, a blue Chinese outfit, and an Hawaiian hula skirt. You can also turn them into butterflies, honeybees, mushrooms, or banana sprites. Both dolls come with fold-back bases that let them stand up. The sailor suit comes with a two-sided white Cupie dog. There are matching hats or headdresses for each outfit. This is a fun, imaginative collection that will enchant paper doll enthusiasts. The book has 32 pages, measures 9 1/4" x 12 1/4", and is in excellent, uncut condition.
