This is a set price auction so you must e-mail me with your contact information such as name, and a phone number, so I can get in touch with you if I feel it is necessary.
Please read the whole auction. It is a lengthy auction and the answer to your question is probably in it if you look and that is the best map I can provide you. With the directions I have given the claim can be easily found.
Here’s a Chance to own what people only dream about!! This could be the opportunity you have been thinking about. Mining and prospecting is just a wonderful, enjoyable hobby or job for a person to get into. It gets you out of the city life and up into the hills. Great for yourself or the whole family. It seems most people have just forgotten what America is all about.
As of August 6, 2009, all dredging within the state of California came to a halt because of a bill that was passed known as SB 670. This is a bill where the California legislature halted suction dredging until a new Environmental Impact Report is completed. This is a bunch of BS because there have been other impact reports over the years that has always shown to the best of my knowledge that dredging does not harm or impact the fish. It has already been quite heavily regulated with dredging seasons which keeps the dredges out of the water during certain times of the year to give the fish time to spawn, hatch and swim off. In a recent article in the California Mining Journal for October 2009, Volume 79, Number 2 there is an article written by Scott Harn about the PLP (Public Lands for the People) has filed a lawsuit to lift the ban on suction dredging. This lawsuit was filed on September 14, 2009. The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court in Sacramento. The lawsuit requests a restraining order and an injunction to enjoin the state from implementing SB 670. The goal of this lawsuit is to get the rights of suction gold dredgers restored prior to the next dredging season.
This claim is located on a Rich River in Northern California. This is a claim that is on proven ground of producing gold and other precious metals. We have dredged and worked our claims in this area for many, many years. This is not a claim filed to just be peddled. We own a few quality claims in this area and this particular claim has not been dredged out, wing dammed or had a dragline bucket working it from end to end. This claim was originally laid out to get as much of the middle fork Applegate River and benches as possible. This claim is located in a very rich and historical area.
Just over the border in Oregon you can pick up all your supplies and mining equipment you would need as there is no sales tax in Oregon.
Just during the construction of the Applegate River dam which is now Applegate Lake they recovered millions of dollars of gold just during the construction of the dam. This claim is just upstream roughly 5 miles from the lake. The middle fork Applegate River and Elliott Creek were the two main gold producers in this area. We also own claims on Elliott Creek. This claim is just roughly 1 ½ miles south of the Oregon border. Half ounce to ounce nuggets are not uncommon in this area on this river. If you know the history of the area and the river then you know what I am talking about. He has found some very nice gold on our claims we own there.
Being offered is a 160 acre unpatented placer mining claim on the “Middle Fork Applegate River” in Siskiyou County California. These photo’s were taken during some high water after some heavy rains, but the water level does drop down during the summer months after the rainy season is over to make some excellent dredging conditions. This claim actually measures 2640 ft. east to west and 2640 ft. south to north. There are many gold producing gulches running into the Middle Fork Applegate River just above and on this claim bringing down new gold every year. Marble Gulch flows into the Middle Fork Applegate River on this claim. This means you are looking at a lot of virgin gold producing ground. You will also find nice hard pan/hard pack material on this claim which is a well known sign of virgin ground. This claim offers exposed bed rock in and out of the river from one end to the other as you can see in the photos. The bed rock is well fractured giving you lots of crevices to work. You will also find iron oxide materials with gold bearing quartz on this claim. This claim has wonderful tent camping areas on it. In the map photo you can see there is two different ways to get to this claim. One way is where the road cuts sharply to the right east of the claim and there is a nice wide area where you can park a couple RV’s with no problem. To get to the claim from there you will need to walk in on the trail that you see on the map that follows the river. The other way is to follow the road as you see on the map it has road access. When you come to where to the trail crosses the creek with the log bridge as you can see in the photo’s you are then about 300 to 400 ft. south of the north end of this claim at that point. The log bridge is actually on the claim itself. There are many great tent camping areas close to the river on this claim. There are many old rich historical mines around this area. These photos are the actual claim.
This auction is for the full 160 acre claim known as “Apple Whiskey" The CAMC is 291746. This claim offers almost ½ mile of river. Whiskey Ridge and Whiskey Creek are just to the northeast of this claim as you can see on the map. Whiskey Ridge is well known for gold itself. This is truly a claim worth owning. Accessibility is a little rougher on this claim and that is why there is still gold on this claim. This claim has good trail and road access. You will have to walk into the river, but that’s why this claim is still mostly virgin. You can park any size RV down at the beginning of the trail or off the side of the dirt road that goes to this claim. You definitely won’t be bothered by many up there. While you’re walking in on the trail to this claim you will see an old miner’s log cabin just across the river. While you are on the claim you will probably notice where I built a couple campfire/cooking areas with stones. It is just a really good time camping, cooking and mining/prospecting on this river. You will find none better!! There is quite a bit of down firewood in this area for your fires. The town of Ruch, Oregon is just down the road roughly 22or 23 miles for gasoline, groceries and chilled beverages if desired. The long sharp curves on this claim offer some of the best dredging, high banking and metal detecting areas imaginable. The river on this claim in spots runs in a steep down hill grade with natural bed rock sticking out of the river and huge chunks of bed rock that have busted off the canyon walls falling into the river coming to rest acting as natural riffles on this claim as you can see in some of the photo’s. The inside curves where the river slows down because of the curves makes this a dredgers paradise. There is also a lot of exposed bedrock in and out of the rivers throughout this claim. This is a wonderful area to just explore with a metal detector as one never knows what they might dig up in this area. I’m probably going to regret selling this claim as I am having my doubts now, but a person has to do what they do. There are just hundreds of gold producing tributaries above and below this claim.
This part of the country is very low key and pretty secluded where there are very few small towns and residents. Always keep in mind the population of the surrounding areas, towns and cities especially where there is easy access to the rivers and streams where obviously people have been dredging for the last 25 to 30 years. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how many dredges have been dropped in them rivers. Especially where rivers are large enough to run the old drag line bucket dredges in. That’s not the case up here. Siskiyou County is one of the three northernmost counties of California. Most of the gold mined in this county has been from placers, the largest of which are along the Applegate, Salmon, Scott, and Klamath Rivers. The Applegate River and its tributaries have produced millions and millions of dollars of gold. Keep in mind their recovery systems were crap back then and they weren’t catching half of the gold going through their boxes. The new owner of this claim will be quite happy, I’m sure. This is truly a quality claim and located within a very rich and historical area. I am into quality and not quantity when it comes to claims and gold. Gold at today’s price is roughly around $1,000 per ounce. This claim can quite easily pay for itself obviously if a person took a little time and worked it. This is also a claim where a person can come down onto a crack or a crevice and fill up some coffee cans full of gold nuggets, but obviously that can’t be guaranteed, but no amount of gold can be guaranteed in the mining business. It’s all about location, location and known gold and actually performing some work. In this area and on this river this could quite possibly pay itself off with one crevice. I have found many good paying crevices and pay streaks on and around this river. Keep in mind that one, two, three and four ounce nuggets are not that all uncommon in this area.
You will see my signs nailed in trees along the border of this claim that say; CLAIM, NO MINING, CAMC 291746. This is also an area where mining claims are well respected.
This is truly a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY for someone that is actually looking for a real quality gold producing claim.
Apple Whiskey, CAMC # 291746 is located and recorded in Siskiyou County. All the paper work is up to date. The new owner will need to file proof of labor for this up coming season on or before September 1st 2010. This claim is also recorded properly with the BLM office. This claim comprises the SE 1/4 of section 27 in Township 48 N, Range 12 W of the Mt. Diablo meridian. Just walk in the Siskiyou County court house/recording office and look at the gold display they have there of the gold that came from Siskiyou county and this area. That will get your blood pumping and looking for gold.
I do own a few claims in this area. This area is claimed up from one end to the other end and has been for years.
We own quality claims on quality gold producing rivers and creeks such as; Middle Fork Applegate River, Elliott Creek, North Fork, South Fork, East Fork Salmon Rivers, Trinity River, Klamath River, American River, Middle Fork American River, Galice Creek, Illinois River, 40 Mile River in Alaska and the Yuba Rivers. For those of you who do have knowledge on gold producing rivers and creeks this tells you what we’re all about when it comes to claims. These rivers are without a doubt some of the richest gold producing rivers in this country. Some of these claims on the rivers mentioned above may come up for sale on EBay in the near future. I do feel quite comfortable working my claims along side of other people I have sold to and have become acquaintances with a few of them. I am not some so called mining company or corporation/association; I am just a miner and have been for over 35 years from Alaska to the deserts. They do not come any better than this. There is exposed bed rock on this claim from one end to the other end making this claim excellent for high banking, hand sluice, panning, sniping, metal detecting and even dry washing. Some people even do quite well with their old rocker boxes up in here. You’ll spend the rest of your life working this claim and so will your grand kids. For the price of $5,000 you will make your money back on this claim easily if you do some work. There is going to be no bid war on this claim. $5,000 is the price—first come, first serve.
If you actually work this claim with equipment that catches the gold, I believe there is still an outrageous amount of gold left on this claim, but you are talking a lot of work and enjoyment and good times. 160 acres of claim with roughly ½ a mile of river plus all the benches on both sides of the river is a lot of area. 20 acre claims on this river I have heard of and seen selling for $5,000 to $10,000. I have found gold up over 100 ft. above the river on the benches where the old river and channels used to run. A lot of the gold that has been laid into place on the Middle Fork Applegate River is actually from old ancient channels and that is where your real gold comes from. There are still people working some of these old dry river beds. You will find virgin bed rock in this area and on this claim. I have heard from old timers who live in the area of baseball size pieces of quartz just laced full of solid gold. I have gotten some nice nuggets myself off my claims in this area and seen and heard of some much nicer ones also. You will also have a good chance of finding some old coins and antiques. This is one of those areas where there was major gold being produced which drew many old miners to the area, roaming around the mountain side prospecting and sometimes hiding their gold and money in the woods and a lot of times they would die with there stashes still hidden. With the modern mining equipment and technology now days it makes it so much easier finding the high paying pay streaks and rich crevices.
I run PRECISION DREDGES which catch large amounts of fine smoke gold/micron minus gold; other people might call this gold dust. Then I run the material out of my dredge over my shaker table which also catches very fine gold and then from there I run it through my amalgamator. By doing it this way I do not waste a lot of time panning it down which gives me more time for dredging and if you did it this same way with the same equipment or equipment equal to mine you will get good quantities of gold just like I do. More dredging and digging time means more gold. Your campsite and equipment will definitely out of sight from any looky-do’ers on this claim. I have found that the people you will see in this area to be quite honest and nice, but you will not see or meet many people. Most people you will see will either be fishermen or hunters or miners. This is an excellent area for hunting and fishing also. You’ll probably actually never see anyone when you’re on your claim.
THIS IS HOW YOU GET TO THE CLAIM:
From Grants Pass Oregon you will take 238 East 21 miles to the small town of Ruch. You will turn right on Applegate Road heading towards Applegate Lake and you will go past Applegate Lake to the “T” in the road which is 16 miles from the town of Ruch. You will turn left onto Elliott Creek Road and go 1 mile and the road will turn to dirt and you are now in California. Just after the road turns to dirt you will see Forestry Sign Road 1050 to your left and you will want to turn right onto road 1040 on your right. You will go down a hill and around a curve and pass over a bridge roughly 1/4 mile from that turn. That is the Middle Fork Applegate River you just went over. From where you turn onto road 1040----2 and ½ miles you will come to the 2nd bridge and 3.6 miles you will come to Horse Camp Trail. 2/10ths of a mile past that you will come to 2 more bridges. Once you have driven 5 miles from where you turned onto road 1040 you will see road 1040 cutting over to your left going over another bridge that is how you enter the claim by road OR you can go up that road 1035 300 to 400 ft. and you will come to a real sharp right hand curve and you will see the trail that heads into the claim at the curve. The dirt road bringing you to this point is also a good dirt road.
When you come to this claim at the log bridge you will see my white location post along with a white sign that I have provided a picture of for you.
On any unpatented mining claim you do NOT own the actual land. You DO however own the mineral rights and the minerals being gold, silver, platinum, or whatever and the right to use as much of the surface of the land that is needed for your mining operation.
You have the right to stay on the land while you are mining. You do not have to mine 24-7, you can take days off to relax as in any job. A lot of people like to spend the summer on their claim which one can do. You can actually stay on your claim all year if you’re actually working it. Most people stay on their claims in RV's, travel trailers, or wall tents, etc.... You can mine this claim 12 months out of a year, but you can only dredge during dredging season if and when the SB 670 law is lifted, but you can metal detect, hand sluice, high bank, snipe, pan, dry wash, etc.. Some of the best gold we have ever found has been with a high banker high above the water. If you do wish to use heavy equipment you would have to file a plan of operation and have it approved.
You do have the right to hold this claim forever as long as you do the necessary paper work which consists of filing your annual labor form with the county of Siskiyou and performing $100 a year annual labor which is working your claim at least 8 hours per year and sending off your $10 fee to BLM along with your small miner waiver form. All these forms will be provided to the new owner. You may also have someone else perform those 8 hours for you if you wish. You have the right to sell the claim or subdivide portions if you wish, lease it, will it to anyone, so in other words this can be in your family for many years to come and this is definitely a claim worth owning.
They are not accepting applications to patented mining claims at the present time, however this could change at anytime and they may start accepting applications then you would be able to submit an application for a patent and if it was approved meaning that if there is enough valuable minerals present you would get a patent on the claim meaning you would own the land then. Then and only then would you actually own the land on any unpatented mining claim. This claim definitely has gold and good amounts of gold, so it is quite possible that this particular claim would meet the standards unlike many others I have seen being offered.
