This is a listing for 30-80 lb Calstar Grafighter 7 foot spinning rods .. This is as good as it gets when you want to throw a Tuna Hunter or Angry Popper at big YFT on the surface. This rod is wrapped in blue .. this has been a very popular wrap lately ..so i thought I'd use it on one of our more popular rods .. this wrap can be done in green, red , burgundy, aquamarine, ice blue, royal blue, purple, yellow .. just about any color you'd like .. for the same price ... or you can choose one of the over 200 available wraps we offer .. please contact us for a link to a site we store available thread colors and wraps. This 7 foot 30-80lb spinning rod, built from the Grafighter GF700H blank, Over the past several years, the fishing reel manufactures have made awesome improvements in the spinning reels that are now being manufactured, they now have the capacity to hold 500 to 1000 yards of braided line and they have the ability to produce amazing amounts of drag .. What we have not seen are spinning rods built to use with these reels .... HERE YOU GO This rod starts with a new rubber/mushroom style butt cap that has groves cut for use on a fighting belt ... the best of both worlds ... easier on your stomach if you don't put it in a belt .. The rear grip on this rod is a material called sharkskin. I like it because it is little smaller in diameter then most rear EVA foam grips, this makes it easier to hold for long periods of time, if you are using this rod to jig with this smaller diameter fits very well under you arm. It is very durable, it wont get slick when it gets wet and if you want a little more texture it is tough enough you can take a large grit stand paper and rough up the surface a little. I build this grip with a diamond pattern under the sharkskin to enhance the grip. It is 10 inches in length which is ideal to cast with, this is the same length as most stand up rod butts .. so when you put it in a fighting belt .. you will be right at home with the length The reel seat is the Fuji heavy duty, saltwater graphite ... This is the same reel seat used for boat rods .. so it is more then strong enough for spinnng rod applications. The fore grip is a triangular shaped grip we have had manufactured for us. It is molded so it has a great transition from the reel seat and too the blank, I got tired of trying to custom shape the fore grips. So i had one molded to my specifications. On my last tuna trip, the one improvement to the spinning rods, that everyone who caught tuna was in total agreement with, was putting the triangular grips on the spinning rods .... When you are 45 minutes into fighting a 150 lb YFT on this spinning rod, and he rips off a couple hundred yards of line ... please remember to drop me a thank you note for the triangular fore grip when you get back ...... This rod is built with the 30-80 lb Calstar Grafighter 700 H blank. This blank is one of the most trusted and demanded blanks for saltwater rods. The 8 guides plus the tip are from Fuji, they are the SiC guides. These guides are extremely hard, smooth and dissipate heat well. They are very corrosive resistant and made for the super braided lines ... They are gun smoke in color and the very best guide Fuji manufactures ..... Each guide is under wrapped to insure no guide to blank contact, then each guide is attached with 4 layers of C sized thread for maximum strength, This rod is wrapped in Azul and black ... the Azul is about the same color as the thread used on the Seeker classic series of rods .. we call this wrap a count down fancy wrap .. it's beautiful .. We stock the rod blanks, gimbals, reel seats, guides and thread most of the time ... most rods can be crafted and shipped in around 14-17 days ... This rod is crafted right here in the USA by BaR-BaR Tackle, additional rods are available and special orders are always welcome. If you are the winning bidder of this rod we will place your name one it at no additional charge.
