Is the pack waterproof?  In my opinion it is similar to materials like Gortex that are water resistant but not completely waterproof as these materials eventually break down.  Keep in mind, the backpack cannot hold water as the sewing seam is not waterproof. I tested it by pouring a bucket of water on the outside of the backpack and inside was still dry.  The bottom is made of nylon and Teflon coated for water-resistance.   The pack is made of  top quality material currently available in themarket with an affordable price.
