I bought this camera new around four years ago and I've got the itch to upgrade.  The body has performed without error.  The 17-85mm lens is fantastic and it's a huge improvement over the other kit-lens, the 18-55.  The 17-85mm lens included here features image stabilization which has proven exceptionally useful over the years.

I'm just a hobbyist photographer so rest assured that THIS body hasn't been battered around going from wedding to wedding like a lot of the other cameras on eBay.  According to Lightroom I have 3298 images in my library captured by this camera.  That number, of course, doesn't include the throw-away images.  Conservative estimate puts the camera at around 5000-6000 shutter actuations.  The Camera Life Expextancy Database (http://www.olegkikin.com/shutterlife/canon_eos400d.htm) says: "Average number of actuations after which shutter is still alive: 19,245.7, average number of actuations after which shutter died: 29,080.9"

You might want to ask other sellers how many shots they've fired to see how close to death THEIR camera is!

I'm including an aftermarket strap by Quantaray (longer and more comfortable than the cheesy Canon strap) and a Kingston 4GB 133x elite pro Compact Flash card.  I *think* that I still have the original box that this came in along with the manual.  I'm pretty particular about my equipment and take great care of it.  You'll love this camera and lens! The camera pictured is NOT the actual camera I'm selling.  There are very slight wear marks around the tripod socket and small marks/smudges on the LCD screen but nothing catastrophic, I assure you.
