EOS Rebel T1i Digital SLR Camera
The
Canon EOS Rebel T1i is the 6th generation
of Canon's popular entry-level DSLR camera series
and it improves upon earlier Rebels by incorporating
many features that up till now could only be
found on Canon's pricier mid-level DSLRs. Among
the Rebel T1i's key attributes are a
15.1Mp CMOS sensor (similar to the sensor
found in the EOS 50D) for detailed, full volume
prints, Live View for accurate pre-focusing
and editing, continuous burst-rates of
up to 3.4 fps, a DIGIC 4 image processor,
and a scratch and glare-resistant high-resolution
(920,000-dot) 3" Clear View LCD
that allows for easy 100% image viewing from
angles up to 170° off-center from the screen.
The big news however is the Rebel T1i's
ability to record a choice of full HD 1080p,
720p, and VGA video capture, which places
it among the few DSLRs currently available that
can capture true high-resolution video that
beats or meets the image quality of far costlier
pro camcorders
To help reduce retouching time the Rebel
T1i features an EOS Integrated Cleaning
System that combats dust through the use
of high-frequency vibrations that shake dust
loose from the sensor's front-mounted IR filter
every time you power up and power down. There
are also anti-static coatings on the
low-pass filter to keep it shmutz-free, and
a body cap designed not to 'shed' particles
that can possibly find their way into the mirror
chamber.
To better enable successful imaging under the
most challenging of lighting conditions, the
camera's DIGIC 4 Image Processor allows
you to set the ISO rating from ISO 100 through
3200 in standard mode, and from 6400
to 12,800 in expanded mode. Once the 9-point
wide-area AF system (with cross-type center
point) nails the focus you can fire up to 3.4
fps for up to 170 exposures, allowing you
the option of capturing longer image sequences.
Key Features:
Canon
15.1 Megapixel APS-C Format CMOS Sensor
Canon's CMOS (complementary
metal oxide semiconductor) sensor captures
images with exceptional clarity and tonal
range and offers the most pixels in its class.
It offers many of the same new technologies
as used by Canon's professional cameras to
maximize each pixel's light gathering efficiency.
Its APS-C size sensor creates an effective
1.6x field of view (compared to 35mm format).
It is capable of producing stunningly detailed
poster-sized prints.
DIGIC 4 Image Processor
With the EOS Rebel T1i, analog to digital
signal conversion is executed by a 14-bit
processor, which generates digital data with
incredibly smooth tones. A feature that originally
appeared in top-of-the-line pro digital SLR
cameras, the 14-bit conversion gives incredibly
smooth transitions from light to dark colors
with far less risk of "banding."
A sky at sunset is a perfect example. With
this rich 14-bit gradation, the EOS Rebel
T1i offers RAW images of the highest quality
that can be processed with Canon's Digital
Photo Professional software. Even JPEG files,
which are always finished at 8-bits per channel,
use the full 14-bit conversion initially to
generate the best possible color and tonal
detail.
HD 1080p Video Capture
The EOS Rebel T1i shoots brilliant
video, even in full high definition. By simply
selecting Movie mode on the EOS Rebel T1i's
mode dial, the camera's 3.0-inch LCD lights
up, and it's ready to go. Shooting is at a
frame rate of 30 fps when shooting SD or HD
quality video (640 x 480 and 1280 x 720 pixels,
respectively) and at a frame rate of 20 fps
in Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) recording.
Sound is recorded through the camera's built-in
microphone. Playback modes are simple to access,
and all Live View AF features can be used
in shooting video.
Full-Featured On-screen Shooting
With Live View Function on
the EOS Rebel T1i, you can enjoy nearly every
camera function available in normal shooting,
all with the convenience of composing on the
camera's brilliant 3.0-inch LCD monitor. You
can zoom in and navigate the composition and
there's even a grid overlay for architectural
shots. Live View focusing modes include Quick
mode, Live mode and Face Detection AF mode
and these are easily selectable through the
convenient Live View Function menu.
3.0-inch Clear View LCD Monitor The EOS Rebel T1i has
a 3.0-inch high resolution LCD monitor that
features 920,000 dots/VGA for far more detail
than previous Rebel-series LCDs. It's the
same screen found on professional models such
as the EOS 5D Mark II. A number of features
enhance usability: an anti-reflective and
water-repellant coating provides a clearer
and more smudge-resistant surface and screen
brightness can be adjusted in 7 steps in accordance
with ambient light.
Auto Lighting Optimizer for superior
highlight-shadow control
The EOS Rebel T1i's Auto Lighting
Optimizer is yet another image-quality tool
that comes to the rescue in tricky lighting
conditions. It can actually lighten dark areas
of a scene while ensuring that bright areas
maintain tonal detail. It's available in all
shooting modes, including P, Tv, Av and Manual.
Wide range ISO setting
100-3200 (ISO expansion: 6400, 12800) The EOS Rebel T1i features
a greatly expanded ISO range that makes shooting
possible in situations previously impossible
without flash. With an expanded setting to
ISO 3200 (ISO expansion: 6400, 12800), along
with the DIGIC 4 Image Processor's improved
noise-reduction technology, your creative
possibilities are nearly endless. Combine
the EOS Rebel T1i with one of Canon's EF/EF-S
lenses with Optical Image Stabilizer and watch
your shooting possibilities expand even further.
Creative Auto goes a step beyond auto
allowing control over frequently-changed settings
Especially for beginners looking
to expand their photographic horizons, the
EOS Rebel T1i offers Creative Auto mode. While
basic settings are based on full automatic
operation, shooting guides on the LCD screen
enable you to make corrections based on simple
to follow guidelines. In essence, with Creative
Auto mode, you can learn about photography
while taking stunning photographs.
EOS Integrated Cleaning System
Keep dust off your image sensor
and prevent Dust from ruining your images
with the advanced Canon EOS Integrated Cleaning
System. The EOS Rebel T1i features a Canon-designed
Self Cleaning Sensor Unit consisting of a
low-pass filter at the front of the sensor
that shakes off dust automatically with ultrasonic
vibrations, removing dust from the sensor
assembly. This Self Cleaning Sensor Unit routine
is automatically activated whenever the camera
is powered on or off (It can also be manually
activated), and a special collar positioned
around the sensor collects the loosened dust.
Plus there is a special coating on the front
surface of the low-pass filter, to prevent
dust from sticking to the sensor in the first
place. Dust that may still remain on the front
of the sensor can also be erased with the
included software. A simple test shot of a
plain, white object can be taken to produce
a Dust Delete Data image. It is then analyzed
in-camera to identify the location and size
of any remaining dust and this data is added
to any subsequent pictures taken. This data
is transmitted along with the image, whether
JPEG or RAW, and the dust can be either manually
or automatically erased in Canon's DPP version
3.3 and later software. thereby ensuring the
cleanest possible image.
Use Canon's Dust
Delete Data function to digitally
remove specks of dust from your photos
Compatible with EF &
EF-S Lenses EOS Rebel T1i is compatible
with all Canon lenses in the EF and EF-S lineup,
ranging from ultra-wide angle to super telephoto
lenses. Canon lenses employ advanced optical
expertise and micron-precision engineering
to deliver unprecedented performance in all
facets of the photographic process. Canon
lenses employ advanced optical expertise and
micron-precision engineering to deliver unprecedented
performance in all facets of the photographic
process. Aspherical optics and fluorite elements,
for example, are featured in the universally
acclaimed L Series lenses, and Canon's Image
Stabilizer technology in select lenses minimizes
the effect of camera shake.
Advanced Flash Photography
The EOS Rebel T1i features
the acclaimed E-TTL II flash metering system.
Whether using its flush-mounted integral flash
or any of the flashes in the EX Speedlite
line, E-TTL II provides reliable flash output
through numerous exposures. Canon's Speedlite
430EX is perfectly suited to the EOS Rebel
T1i. It includes an AF-assist Beam, which
works in conjunction with the EOS Digital
Rebel T1i's focusing system, and automatically
sends color temperature information to the
camera when the flash fires, for more accurate
white balance rendition with flash photography.
Canon EOS Digital Solution Disk (Version
17.0)
The EOS Rebel T1i comes bundled
with an updated Canon EOS Digital Solution
Disk, which features powerful software programs
designed to extend the EOS experience to the
computer. Each application is designed to
perfect the captured images and streamline
the digital workflow.
Digital Photo Professional
3.3 is an image
processing program that enables high-speed
RAW image processing, high-speed previewing
for real-time image adjustment and support
for sRGB, Adobe RGB and Wide Gamut RGB color
spaces. Because it's CMS (Color Management
System) compatible, Digital Photo Professional
allows for easy image layout and printing
in Adobe RGB in conjunction with Easy-PhotoPrint
and PictBridge printers. It also features
the Dust Delete Data Detection tool for
cleaner images.
EOS Utility 2.3
(Windows & Macintosh) handles the connection
between the camera and computer, whenever
they're connected via USB. It allows remote
controlled shooting from the computer, handles
downloading of images from the camera to
the computer, and allows seamless linking
to either Canon's ZoomBrowser/ImageBrowser
or Digital Photo Professional software once
images have been copied to the hard drive.
Furthermore, it's used to upload settings
back into a USB-connected camera.
ZoomBrowser EX 6.1
for Windows (Vista compatible) and ImageBrowser
6.1 for Mac OS X are the easy, user-friendly
options for viewing and editing of JPEG
and even RAW image files. Both allow viewing
of numerous types of images including finished
TIFF and BMP files. Both also have a variety
of search options for finding images, allow
re-naming of single images or batches of
files, and offer a variety of options for
printing without using a separate image-editing
program.
RAW Image Task
2.8 (Windows & Macintosh) is an integrated
component of ZoomBrowser EX (Windows) or
ImageBrowser (Mac) that allows processing
of RAW images from EOS cameras with a variety
of adjustment possibilities. These options,
as well as the overall color, contrast and
"look" of RAW Image Task, closely
mimic the characteristics of Canon's in-camera
JPEG processing.
Canon
EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Zoom Lens
The Canon EF-S
18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens is designed
with Canon's Optical Image
Stabilizertechnology
while retaining the compactness and
lightness of previous models.
Its stabilization allows sharp
hand-held shots at shutter speeds up to four
stops slower than otherwise possible.
The 18-55mm consists
of 11 elements in 9 groups
and uses an Aspherical lens element
to correct aberration for excellent image quality
throughout the zoom range and a circular aperture
for exquisite rendering of out-of-focus backgrounds.
Without a lot of size, weight or cost, this
lens expands picture-taking possibilities any
time slow shutter speeds are needed.
Key Features:
Uses optics designed to take full advantage
of the small image circle and short back focus
in EF-S lenses
Optimized lens coatings minimize flare and
ghosting which are prone to occur with digital
cameras
Compact and ultra-lightweight with impressive
macro close-focusing ability of 9.8" (25 cm)
Includes 1 Aspherical lens element
Circular aperture diaphragm produces a more
attractive appearance to out-of-focus background
areas in photos shot using the widest apertures
What is a Canon Factory Demo?
In most cases a Canon Factory Demo is a unit that has been used as a Canon display piece or as a "Salesman's Sample". They have never been owned by a consumer and have minimal to no use. Each unit is individually checked and tested before it is shipped to us from Canon. Where some may have small marks or slight imperfections in the finish, it is important to note that the unit is in brand new operating condition and is covered by Cameta Camera's warranty for one full year on all parts and labor.
