    *I sell 7 different size Stripping blades/knives INDIVIDUALLY and as a set:

  • General rule of thumb:

  •  Fine stripping blades remove more hair, medium and coarse blades remove less hair

  • English 19 Tooth: Blade 1 3/4 in., Tooth Area 1 1/4 in. for fast, detail work on large areas and overall clean-up on short coats (most Hounds).
  • Medium 23 Tooth: Blade 2 1/4 in., Tooth Area 1 1/2 in. : good for overall body work, blending
  • Ear-Small Tooth: Blade 1 1/4 in., Tooth Area 1 in. : Best for detailed work on face, head and ears.
  • Terrier-17 Tooth: Blade 2 1/4 in., Tooth Area 1 1/2 in. : Best for terrier coats
  • Coarse 17 Slant: Blade 2 1/4 in., Tooth Area 1 3/4 in. : for heavy/coarse short fur. Thumb side is tapered for more exact work and for tight stripping close to the skin.
  • Coarse 18 Straight: Blade 2 1/4 in., Tooth Area 1 1/2 in. : for heavy/coarse short fur
  • Fine 31 Tooth: Blade 2 1/4 in., Tooth Area 1 1/2 in. : Removes more hair than medium/coarse knives, good for natural blending
