Carl Claudy 3 vol. Intro to Freemasonry Temple 1931 Inscribed Masonic
Carl H. Claudy, Introduction to Freemasonry, vol. 1 Entered Apprentice, vol. II Fellowcraft, and vol III. Master Mason. Published by The Temple Publishers, Washington D.C., Copyright 1931 by Carl H. Claudy. No other dates. I believe that this is the first edition, and/or a first or an early printing. Black boards, gilt lettering, no dj. Bumps to top & bottom & spine edges on all 3 volumes. First 2-3 pages of vol. II has a faint watermark. Inside otherwise on all three is very clean, no foxing, tears, etc.
All three volumes are inscribed/signed in dark blue ink on the presentation page from the author, Carl H. Claudy, P. M., to a Sanford G. Donaldson Jr. Vol. I has the inscription as well as apprentice's initiation date for April 27, 1934 at St. John's, lodge, No. 11, Washington, D.C. The business card found with these books, and included, is for the same name, minus the suffix, Sovereign Grand Inspector General in Yankton, South Dakota. Inscription on vol. 1 reads: "I hope you have a long and happy life as a brother of the Ancient Craft, and that you will derive much joy from the imagination? of your distinguished father, whom I am proud to know, Carl. H. Claudy." I am not an expert on antiquarian books, so feel free to ask questions.
Each volume measures 6 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches for l x w. Weighs 14 oz before packing. Buyer pays shipping. Thanks for looking, email with questions.
