It is my privilege to present for consideration a magical Carlton Ware Chinese Figures Vase. Make no mistakes; Chinese Figures is one of THE finest example of Carlton Wares Chinoiserie School of patterns. In the Chinese Figures pattern an Emperor is depicted in front of a Temple with a gaggle of servants in attendance.

This is all set in the classic Chinoiserie Chinese garden. It is elaborate as it is complex; it combines a rich mix of pagodas and bridges. Also present on the Chinese letters which are part of the scene and also form and intricate freeze around the mouth of the vase. All this is set on a mottled deep blue ground. The inside is delightful mother of pearl luster glaze. It is bright, it is vibrant and it sure as hell makes a statement.

The Chinese Figures pattern was first introduced circa 1927. This delightful vase bears the black stamped maker’s mark that was introduced in the 1925. Hand painted on the base in black ink is the pattern number 3199.

This magical vase stands a proud 15 cm (6”) tall.

It is in AS NEW condition; with NO chips, cracks stains or repairs. It is exactly as it was when it came out of the kiln when it was brand spanking new nigh on 80 years ago.
