Presented here for consideration is a Carlton Ware Fantasy Castle Vase. I love this pattern, it depicts a fantastical landscape including a towering castle hand painted over a sponged cream ground and glazed in a matt glaze.

I have also seen this pattern called Witches Castle. It is clearly marked to the base with the Carlton Ware script mark that was in use from 1925. “Fantasy Castle” is pattern number 3458 and it has a production window from 1930 to 1934.

Dimensions

This wee sweetheart is 8 cm (3.12”) tall and it has a diameter across its shoulders of 8.5 cm (3.4”).

Condition 

It is in EXCELLNT condition, with NO chips, cracks, stains or repairs and NO crazing. The only flaw that I can find is a small blob of paint on one of the trees which is quiet obviously a minor manufacturing flaw (clearly visible in the photo below).

This is a very RARE and impressive art deco pattern – these are very few and far between. Hit the BUY IT NOW tab and make sure you are the lucky punter who gets to call this beauty your own.
