Presented here for consideration is a Carlton Ware Raspberry Conserve Dish and spoon in the original box. The same moulds where used to make the Blackberry and the Raspberry patterns, the only difference between these patterns is in the colouring; Raspberry is on a soft pink ground (as this set is) while Blackberry is on a soft green ground.

It bares the black stamped under glaze makers’ mark that was in use from 1935 until 1961. There is the impressed shape number 1472, this shape went into production in 1936.

  • Dimensions

The conserve dish measures 11 cm (4.5") across at its broadest and the spoon is 12 cm (4.75”) long. The box measures 13.7 cm (5.5”) by 15 cm (6”) and it is 3 cm (1.2”).

  • Condition

It is in excellent condition, there are no chips, cracks, repairs or stains. But as is so often the case with production of this style and vintage it does exhibit some crazing. The box is discoloured and there is a small tear in the lid, but the corners are intact and the original partitions are still in place as is the original black and gold paper label.

Carlton Ware’s embossed ranges have come of age and the pink Raspberry pattern is one of the more hard to come by. It is very RARE to find one of there sets in ther original box. Hit the BUY IT NOW tab and make sure the magical investment is not pilfered right out from under nose.
