Carnival Glass
Imperial glass co.
1911-1914
"Lustre Rose"
AKA: Imperial's #489; Imperial Rose, Open Rose
Marigold Tumbler with rib interior.
No logo marks.
Measures: 4 1/4 inches tall.
The Lustre rose and Open rose are actually the same pattern. The pattern can be identified by the three dimensional open rose and foliage that dominates each form. The back ground have a strippled effect. The pattern was made from Imperial glass co. production begun in 1911-1914.
The tumblers have a flared edge, some tumblers came in plain interior and some have the rib interior. The tumbler I am selling have the rib interior with a strippled background. The color is marigold with iridescence colors of purple, pinkish, teal, blue, gold and orange, the iridescence is located on the exterior and interior of the tumbler. Very gorgeous!
As far as I can see the tumbler does have chips and flakes on the base bottom edging (see photos) Lite usage marks. The rest of the tumbler is in good shape as well as the iridescent. Still makes a great display!
(as with any antique glass the tumbler has mold seams, possible bubbles and strawlines. This is consider factory flaws not damage)
Very lovely!
