The Classic is back! Well, not really but I reckon just everybody has wanted one of these - full MIDI wind/breath control from a very simple machine. The only thing that could have made this better would be if it came with a skinny tie! The built-in sounds are just awful - luckily for y'all casio didn't check the chip out too well so it squeals in the most horrendous way. If you've ever looked at one of these (on eBay) you'd see about the infamous squeal from the built in sounds. But, since this has a really nice MIDI Wind implementation then the squeal is a moot point. Plug this into your favorite module and dial up a nice horn sound - try #34 on the JD-800 Brass card and you'll be amazed.
Has a ton of features: transpose button portamento two way fingering - I have included the original fingering chart for various instruments that came with the unit. headphone connector / built in speaker [don't ask - just use the MIDI] power supply MIDI out breath on/off - you can just finger the keys without blowing. octave button 6 presets
Includes: Original Manual and Fingering Chart Power supply long MIDI cable 2x mouthpieces neck strap THE Original box! + instructions on how to fix the squeal - from the internet - pursue at your own risk! No refunds for trying to fix it yourself.
--- Seriously - these don't go for all that much (the yamaha and awia go for thousands) and it's amazing how much fun it can be. If you can really play brass instruments you'll just love playing all the killer brass samples/ sounds on your various modules. If you're a guitarist, drummer, synthplayer etc then you'll see how amazing breath instruments can be. Sends 'breath controller' messages to your sequencer [Cakewalk etc] which you can edit if you make a mistake. Also sends the notes you play. I'm sorry to see this go but, alas I haven't played it for a long time and I'm thinking someone else will get a real blast from using it.
~ the one thing I don't get is why didn't casio fix the squeal after they hear about it? Seems they just kept selling them and hoping it would go away. Everything has been tested and works as described. MIDI connection/buttons/keys work fine.
