HISTORY
This beautiful sterling silver coin is an exact replica of an ancient Greek Tetradrachm used in Athens 200 years before the birth of Christ. One side features beautiful Athena, goddess of wisdom and war, protector of the people. The other side an owl, Athena's bird and symbol of wisdom, is shown perched on an amphora. These earthenware containers were used to hold wine or oil. This beautiful piece of sterling silver jewelry can be worn with either side showing. It embodies 2,200 year old Greek history and mythology while celebrating the wisdom and power of women.

RECREATION
This reproduction was molded directly from an original Greek Tetradrachm using a unique, patent pending technology which exactly duplicates the object without risking direct contact. This guarantees the safety and integrity of the original antiquity while permitting an exact duplicate to be produced. The technique perfectly reproduces the original artifact down to the finest tool marks made by the artist 3500 years ago. Unlike other reproduction techniques, no modern recarving or reinterpretation of the piece was necessary.

The original Athena Coin is currently in a private collection and was reproduced by Echoes In Time under exclusive agreement with the owners. The reproduction and its dramatic custom designed sterling silver mounting were individually handmade and hand finished by artisans in USA with particular attention to authenticity and craftsmanship.
