Wonderful Trivet
CAST IRON TRIVET "1888"
"1888," and described as "Scarce" by Dick Hankenson in Trivets Book 1, page 10. One of late 1800's trivets produced, probably by the same company, as all the ones I have seen have the same basic design, with stylized leaf on the handle. Probably this one was made in 1888 to honor that year, and to add to people's collection....more for use, of course, than display at that time! There is no damage with a slightly rough finish on top and no writing on back. No rails, but 3 feet on back.
Very unusual trivet and a great one to commemorate a year..........maybe when your Father's Father was born....How about for Father's day?!
