Up for bid is a Authentic Reproduction of a Old Time Favorite Cast Iron Mechanical Bank. It's called the "The Cottage Bank". It features a Old New England Style Cottage sitting on the top of a hill. Many fine details are featured of the Cottage , its  yard and lamp post of an earlier era. The way it works is: You open the front two gates, then place a coin on the pathway leading to the house. There is a metal lever located on the base of the bank just below the gates.  As you push down on the lever, the gates close quickly , hitting the coin sending it  up the pathway and into the front door of the Cottage. The coin drops into the bank below.  Coins can be retrieved by removing the coin plug , located on the bottom of the Bank. (see pictures). It stands 5-1/2  inches tall. The base is 6-3/4 inches by 7 inches wide. This is a Beautiful Bank in "Excellent Condition". All of its Mechanical Parts work Perfectly.  Stamping on the bottom reads: " Bits & Pieces".
