It is
important for the buyer to know that I do not accept bids from International
Buyers or ship to these countries. 1/2 This
Collection Great Line ¾ bend Oval Dublin, Euro Bar on the stem and is a 1K export,
stamped as a piece made in 1998 stamped on under edge of shank with a 51. I find this item very comfortable to hold in
the mouth and hand and is in fact a very sweet smoke despite the bottom of bore
into the chamber is approx 3/16 Inch above the crown. (analogy of crown in 2
lane road, the center high point where both lanes, the apex prevents flooding
since water flows down to the side gravel. A
pipe bowl bore is inverted, this crown is a reverse of the road crown. Concave Floor
of the bowl should meet perfectly with channel drilled from the shank. In steep
curved pipes, this can be difficult due to the course the angle drill must
travel. If the craftsman’s “feel” is
slightly off, one can allow the drill to go through the floor or opposite
wall. The drill can drift yielding a
smoke hole above or below the floor/smoke hole of the chamber or left or right of
center. These misjudgments can yield
somewhat “crappy” delivery! Even though
the bend of shank is steep in this Castello, which can lead to the afore-
mentioned condition, this pipe is neither wet nor has it ever gurgled due to
the height of drill in respect to bottom of bowl. (we’re talking a 3/32 to 5/32
gap above where it would be near perfect. Think of drill hole at the crown,
conforming to where curvature of the concave bore meets the initial rise of the
perpendicular chamber wall! The
bowl is very well grained in terms of birds
eye and cross grain but Castello still graded it only as a 1K. I repeat, it functions so well especially in
the flavor aspect- this is some piece of sweet wood! This
approach of a fancy turned push bit into an asymmetrically(wavy!) top surface
godet for an inventory number shape once used in the 1970’s, changed 49 as
calabash to the 249. I own a 293 but this is the first 249 I’ve seen as a
Collection. ( i.e. The technique was applied to the f/b egg (93) to make the
shape number 293. I own one with a year date stampof 41. The “Castle” stamp of this listing is 51. This
Castello Collection Greatline is stamped: LH

in a circle Over block letter COLLECTION Over GREAT LINE.

My listingd are generally for used items, made presentable in terms of personal hygiene and cleanliness. If an item is not used and is as a virgin item bought in a pipe shop then will be listed as UNUSED. For pipes I own since new and items bought from or traded with trusted enthusiasts, I clean these items by hand when necessary, polishing stems, waxing bowls/shanks, removing varnishes and oils with 40% grain alcohol assisted by pipe cleaners and other pipe cleaning tools. I only resort to reaming when the bowl rim is excessively thick since it enables me to inspect pie for faults. Physical dink marks, flaws, slight burns “out- of- round bowl, small sand spots are noted in written and photographic form. My feedback score is
