Castle of Frankenstein17 HORROR Nudes FRANK BRUNNER

Castle of Frankenstein #16 was published by Gothic Castle Publishing in 1971. These magazines have art, comics, articles and reviews of horror & Sci-Fi movies and TV shows. There is also some nice political commentary, reflective of a more politically and sexually enlightened time . There is early artwork by Frank Brunner on the cover, a 6 page story illustrated by Gus St. Anthony, and a 4 page story illustrated by Mel Laybourn.

The articles are very quirky in what they cover, in a very interesting way. There is part 2 of a 2 part interview with Robert Bloch (author of Psycho), articles on the movie "Crimson Cult", Rondo Hatton, "Slaymate of the month", the occasional naked woman, and other interesting content. I loved the quirky editorials, writing style and photo choices--Me thinks these guys had a little too much pot when they worked on the magazines. A great flashback to the early 70's period.

The back cover has a full page color photo of the cast of Star Trek - the TV series.

I have a full size scan of the covers so that you can see the condition of this magazine. It's in excellent condition with some yellowing on the edges & darkening of the pages from age, some spine wear, a tiny tear on the bottom edge of the back cover  (can be seen on the right edge of the rotated back cover scan) and minor cover wear from handling.
