Origin: Canada
Lore/Uses: Catnip is used for Sachets, Herbal Tea, natural insect repellant, and of course Cats love it too! It is a perennial herb belonging (strangely?) to the mint family.
It grows wild in most parts of the United States. Catnip is also widely cultivated for commercial uses. Catnip is native to Europe and was introduced to the United States in the late 18th century. In France, leaves and young shoots were used as for seasoning. In America, the Native Americans brewed it into a tea used for colic in infants
