This is a one owner, carefully maintained Cervélo P3 Carbon, full Campagnolo Record carbon Time Trial bike, purchased in October 2006. Zipp 606 wheels with Cyclops wireless 2.4 Rear Hub, ceramic BB, ceramic pulleys, Campagnolo Carbon 175cc crank, and ceramic front hub for Zipp 404 all upgraded September 2007.
This TT bike is in near Mint condition and has never been dropped, crashed, fallen over, or damaged. There is a small dot on the white Fizik seat, visible on the side, from leaning the bike against cars and buildings. The handlebar tape is new.
As I am no longer into TT events, it is time for the bike to go to make way for simple road biking enjoyment. It is extremely fast, with Oval cowhorn bars and carbon multiple adjustment aero bars. The Team CSC Dave Zabriskie record TT in the Tour de France adorns the end of the top tube, with an astounding 54.676 kph or 34.17 mph for nearly 20km. Every tube of the P3 Carbon has been sculpted to accomplish two things: Reduce drag and increase stiffness. If you have dreamed of owning a $10k+ pro level TT bike for a "buy it now price" 40% less and in meticulous condition, with tons of extras, this is it.
The headtube is a thin shape that complements the CCS (Constant Cross Section) seat tube. From its intersection with the top tube all the way down to where it meets the huge BB, the seat tube has a profile optimized throughout it length to promote a horizontal airflow that dramatically decreases drag. The curved, cut out seat tube works together with your rear wheel to decrease tubulence and drag. The think seatstays are built with the same philosophy: It's not just a matter of making the aero; rather, it's having them work hand-in-hand with a spinning rear wheel to channel the airflow with minimum disruption across the rear half of the bike. The Cervélo Wolf carbon fork and the Cervélo Aero Carbon fiber seatpost are two other important components of the P3 Carbon tailored with aerodynamics foremost in mind.
The P3 Carbon brings other assets to your TT. It has an oversized, hollow BB shell to give it the ultimate in drivetrain stiffness. If your're doing races 40km in length or shorter and your're choosing to push big gears, the blistering power your're putting into the crankset is the worst force your bike will ever face. The design of the drivetrain area keeps the P3 Carbon flex-free. None of your power will go wasted. And if you're riding on a hilly course, you'll be grateful fore the light frame weight you get from the P3 Carbon thanks to its high-modulus carbon construction.
The P3 Carbon comes with a two-position aero seatpost that allows you to choose between a 75 degree and 78 degree seat angle. The frame is 61cm. Total weight is 18lbs + with PowerTap Hub.
