Offered for auction is an original lithograph by Charles Cattermole RI. [Royal Institute ] http://barrykeenegallery.com/CATTERMOLE.%20Charles.htm
This original print of Cattermole's depicts the Visit of King James 1 to The print is in wonderful condition, measures 30 x 24.5” and has minimal foxing or fading. The pics don't due it justice. There are no unsightly areas, no tears, rips, etc. The flash of the camera is tending to highlight what is a comfortable, overall, muting. Charles Cattermole, Royal Institute, corresponded with Whistler and many of his contemporaries. He was the nephew of Geoge Cattermole, illustrator of many of Charles Dickens works and whereas George Cattermole seemed to be more the illustrator, Charles did more watercolors, oils, etchings, etc. I’ve found as many links as I could to help you in any research. Many of Cattermole's works have been sold at Christie's. These photos were unfortunately taken opposite an open window which produces reflections on the glass. I'll try to get more up as soon as I find some time...
