Charming VINTAGE "Growing with DONALD DUCK" Completed CROSS STITCH PANEL!!
This adorable Estate Sale Find was the most fun item I purchased! Measuring 37.5" x 11", it is simply Darling! At the top, you see on of Donald's Nephew holding up the Embroidered "GROWING WITH DONALD" banner, while 2 other nephews stand atop DONALD'S head! Surrounded in Red stitching, the panel appears to be made of cotton or linen. The workmanship is Excellent and the backside tag reads " KIT BY PARAGON NEEDLECRAFT, WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS" and their copyright. A fabulous, collectible piece and ready to frame!
This piece was hand-finished and stored. All of the linens at this sale were quite old so I am assuming this has quite a bit of age to it as well. The piece is in VERY GOOD CONDITION with only one small area of the red, outer trim, that needs a bit of re-stitching. On the background fabric, to the left of Donald's hat, is a small cut in the fabric. This is quite small and I would think a few stitches would not be all that noticeable, to make sure this older piece will last many years into the future. This tiny area measures, in an "L" shape, approx. 1/4" x 1/4". I overlooked this until now, so it is quite small. Also, you may notice what looks like a "dark" area. This is simply a piece of "fuzz" that was taken off and should NOT be considered as staining or damage.
This would make a charming accompaniment to any baby or child's room! The fact that it is hand done makes it so very special and a wonderful heirloom to hand down!
