~Chic '40s black tilt hat~green feathers~high crown~

This is a sensational '40s black tilt hat trimmed with 3 long feathers and a band  of  green, black and red feathers around the edge. The inside circumference measures approx. 19" , the crown is 4" high--slopes down in the back--and the hat can be worn by most small to medium head sizes. The hat's done in  black fabric with a bow on the left side--of the same fabric. There's a small comb  on the underside front of the hat to help secure it to one's head.

PLEASE NOTE: The hat also comes with a photo of the original owner wearing her hat. The date on the back of the photo is 1947.

The labels: New York Creation and Original Mitzie Creation American Design.

Condition: The hat's in very good condition--clean--was well stored--has a few issues related to age and wear: there are several tiny scuffs to the long feathers and a few of the small feathers, several small feathers around the  edge (left side) were re-glued--see closeup photo--one or two tiny feathers may have been missing.

Overall a spectacular hat of the "swing era"--would be fun to wear and would make an fabulous  addition to a collection. It would be especially great to wear for the upcoming holiday season.
