THE BEGINNING OF CREATIVITY - CHOOSING THE ACCESSORY. The artist insists on personally selecting the items on which to paint because her inspiration begins with a creative canvas. One of Andrea Hamilton’s signature artistic talents is weaving her hand paintings into the printed patterns of material to produce an eloquent and seamless custom look that is fun yet tasteful.
GETTING READY TO CREATE. Before painting, each item must undergo a rigorous process of preparation, including sketching, priming, and sufficient drying time (typically 24 hours).
PAINTING EACH POOCH. Each painting is applied skillfully by hand using professional grade paints and mediums. For porous surfaces, premium acrylics are used, which are permanent and flexible when dry. For non-porous surfaces, such as jewelry and sunglasses, the artist uses premium acrylic enamels, which are specially formulated to bond to hard surfaces.
HAPPY ENDINGS – SEALING THE ARTWORK. Once all recommended dry times have been met, the finished artwork receives a clear protective topcoat. Items with flexible surfaces are specially treated and sealed with a special flexible surface varnish.
Gentle use is highly recommended for all hand painted items to encourage artwork preservation.
