SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The safety restraint device for chairs is a device used to secure a child six months to an adult that may have special needs in almost any chair. The device comprises a padding designed to fit over the back of a chair, somewhat similar to a chair cushion for the back. An adjustable strap is disposed on the rear surface of the padding. The strap functions to secure the padding on the chair. The front surface of the padding includes adjustable shoulder straps and an adjustable body harness for restraining the individual while allowing for free head, arm and leg movement. The shoulder straps include oversized pads that can function as pillows if the individual falls asleep.
Accordingly, the invention presents a restraining device for an individual that is highly adaptable, conveniently transportable, and easy to use. The device is easily cleaned (machine washable) and is resistant to stains and chemical attacks from mild disinfectants or the hot temperatures and detergents typically used in washing machines. The invention provides for improved elements thereof in an arrangement for the purposes described that are inexpensive, dependable and fully effective in accomplishing their intended purposes. Prices can vary based on individual needs.
