Look at this! Here is a Child's Gym-Dandy Surrey Wagon recommend by Art Linkletter. This is a very unusual pedal wagon as you can see by the pictures. It is a two seater with the driver(peddler) sitting in the second seat. The steering is done in the second seat as well. On the car you will see a sticker which indicates it was recommended by Art Linkletter (see pictures). Other than a few nuts and bolts all seems to be original, with the exception of the surrey (top canvas cover) and it's frame are missing. Aside from those missing parts and some miner rust the cart is in very good condition with some paint for it's age. The cart measures, front to back 31 1/3", from front foot stand to back tire 55 1/4" and seats are 9 1/2" wide x 20 1/8" long.
Art Linkletter had one of the longest running T.V. shows "House Party" that aired September 1, 1952-September 5, 1969. The last part of his show was dedicated to interviewing young children(ages 4 -8/9) which became known as "Kids Say The Darnedest Things". It was during this segment that the Gym- Dandy Surrey would have been recommended by Art Linkletter. Please be sure to view all pictures as you also may find this peddler as neat as I did._16
