Chinese Export Porcelain Canton Pierced Basket.

The oval porcelain bowl with a blue border over a Rain and Cloud dash and scallop inner border and with pierced fretwork around the side.  The center painted in a typical Canton Chinese landscape of a bridge, boat, trees, building and mountains with water.  The exterior with a double blue line at the top and a matching wide blue border at the foot.  The foot rim unglazed as usual.

In very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.  The usual and expected potting, piercing and glazing flaws.  A glazing flaw on the rim at about 1:00 o'clock and with frits on the outside edge of the rim. 

Chinese made for export to the West.  Mid 19th century.  Measures 3 1/2" high, 9 7/8" x 8 1/2" at top rim.
