"First in Time"

ChipScapesTM Clock Series

Production:

One of kind

Full Artwork
(Click picture for larger image)

Media:

The clock face artwork is a 10.75" digital photograph (full bleed). Archival photo papers and inks are used. The back of the clock contains a narrative and the artist's signature.

Clock:

The clock dimensions are 12.5" in diameter by 1.5" deep. The face plate is flat glass. The clock uses quartz movement with ticking second hand. It requires a AA battery, which is not included. The clock can be hung by a single nail 1" lower than the top of the clock.

Artwork Description (also included in the narrative on the reverse of the clock):

ChipScapesTM artist Steve Emery created the artwork used as the face of this clock. ChipScapesTM are pictures taken of computer chips, sort of microscopic chip landscapes, or ChipScapesTM for short. This image was created by photographing the lower right corner of an Intel 4004 chip, the world’s first microprocessor. The colors come from the prism effect created by the lighting and the layered manufacturing process of computer chips."

General Information:

These artworks are the creation of ChipScapesTM artist Steve Emery. ChipScapesTM are photographs taken of computer chips, boards, and other computer artifacts. They are sort of chip landscapes, or ChipScapesTM for short. Most often a macro-lens or microscope is used with special lightning to achieve these unique artworks.

This artwork is part of the ChipScapesTM Clock Series. This ChipScapesTM Clock is a mixed media artwork that also happens to be a clock. Each clock artwork is unqiue. The round wall clock comes in a box separate from the box it is shipped in. ChipScapesTM Clocks are a great way to share the beauty in technology and make the perfect gift.
