This one is started and I am planning up shipping it Friday after auction so prompt payment will be appreciated. The last one had to wait a few days to ship after it was done because of high winds 25-45MPH. I am falling behind, it may ship Monday:(
This is a great oven! I just keep getting better and better at this. I've been working on powder coating ovens for almost three years now and this one is by far my best work.
Powder Coating Oven To Fit A Chopper Frame!
This is unit is 72 inches long 48" tall and 32" wide, all inside diminsions.
A full six feet deep with four burners, A circulating fan for faster curing and a track system to slide a rack in on. I will include the bearings and angle iron I used for the trolly but I cannot make one in my garage just yet.
There are two switches, one for the fan and one to turn the burners off regardless what the temperture is.
The digital controller stays on when ever there is power to the unit. It has a dual read-out, the top number is what it is set on and the bottom is the actual temperture. The Auber intelligent temperature controller is a high performance, highly reliable, intelligent PID controller. A combination of fuzzy logic and traditional PID, the control is rapid, smooth and has an advanced auto-tuning system. PLUS, it has a whole bunch of other features that are not needed! www.auberins.com has the instuctions and specifics for the controller. I use Cutler-Hammer definate pupose contactors.
The 10" circulating fan is rated at 700 CFM which gives you over ten air changes per minute. That is the sort of volume you need to insure a quick convection type cook cycle. Many amatuer oven builders seem to think the fan is for evening out the temperture but that is really not its main purpose. It is most useful for cooking your parts quicker just like you can cook food quicker with a convection oven. There is not a great deal of temperture differential from top to bottom in a oven with the burners on bottom. The important temperture differential is between the part being coated and the air a fraction of an inch away. If you put a cold frame in a hot oven the temperature will be 450 or near the thermostat setting up to maybe a quarter inch away from the frame. Thats where you want the air to circulate! I wouldn't lie to you, I am not a powder coater but the pro's that I have sold these to swear by the fans. It seems like half my customers have bigger oven and buy one of mine so they don't have to use a walk in oven for small loads and the other half are just the opposite. They are moving up from a home unit.
There are four 3100 Watt Burners for quick heat up. Combined they pull about 56 amps. It heats up to 450 degrees in 20 - 30 minutes. I use a 60 amp breaker for the main power and safety.
I am going to make a trolly for this unit but it will not have the upper rack. This is the old write up for the trolly .The track is included in this low price. It is designed for versatility. The base is made from 1.5"x1.5" angle iron with three cross members. It is very sturdy to support a stand, expanded metal oven rack or mounting points to support a bike frame. The upper portion has two pairs of vertical members 16 inches in from each end, unistrut between the end and three straps running 55 inches lenghtwise for hanging parts. There are six ball bearing rollers that roll inside the unistrut track. I finished the design on this with a customer that picked up the last unit and it looks great and will serve its purpose well. The track system is vailable at Home Depot so you can build your own painting rack and slideyour parts straight in. I have included three pictures of the trolly I built when I was still working at the family sweat shop. The one I make for this will have the same angle and bearings but I won't be able to complete the top portion.
The oven is made with 20 ga galvanized material sandwiched around two inch thick Johns Mansfield or rock wool oven insulation rated to 1000 degrees! I don't know how hot you can get it but the digital thermostat will go over the 550 degree maximum I suggest. The zinc in the galvanized will melt off at 850'. The outside does gets hot to the touch after a few hours but not hot enough to burn your hand. I've had it up to about 510'
It is shipped as shown, fully assembled and ready to wire in.
This oven is complete and ready to ship. It weighs 1100 pounds or so. Please send me your zip and city for a quote. There are typical freight quotes in the questions below. If you need a lift truck it will cost $150 extra. I figure $500 will get it to either coast but the corners of the country might cost more.
I USE FEDEX FREIGHT AND I WILL HAVE TO QUOTE INDIVIDUAL LOCATIONS.
