Kingbearings are made from surgical grade stainless steel and are fully serviceable. The constant contact seals are easily removed to allow for user servicing, yet provide an impervious barrier to the worst grit and grime of riding. The seals protect the bearings so well that headsets 10, and even 15, years old with no service, still run like new.

This headset is in good used condition. The bearings have years of life. This headset was in 2 bikes over 2 years. The Black Lower Cup has a wear "KIN"mark from my Steel braded Shimano Cables (Green Arrow). If you put it on the inside of the frame it won’t be seen.
