Christie's, New York, Important Works of Art By Tiffany Studios. New York, Tuesday 18 December 2007. Softcover, color photographic endpages. 88 pp., 70 Lots. Fully illustrated in color.
You are bidding on a beautiful catalog devoted entirely to works by Tiffany Studios, which were auctioned at Christie's, New York in December 2007. The catalog features works from a number of collections, including that of The Strong Museum of Art.
The catalog is fully illustrated with high-quality color plates printed on heavy stock paper. A number of works are also shown in multiple images depicting details of the pieces.
Among the highlights of the catalog are: A Favrile Glass and Wrought-Iron Fire Screen from c. 1905, A "Dragonfly" Leaded Glass and Gilt-Bronze Table Lamp from c. 1910, A "Nasturtium" Leaded Glass and Bronze Floor Lamp from c. 1910, A "Poppy" Leaded Glass and Bronze Table Lamp from c. 1910, A Leaded Glass and Turtleback Tile Lantern from c. 1910, An Intaglio-Carved Favrile Glass Floriform Vase Engraved L.C.T. W7810 Louis C. Tiffany St. Louis from c. 1904, Several Drawings for Leaded Glass Windows from c. 1906, Paintings by Louis Comfort Tiffany. And there is much more.
Condition: My copy of this catalog is new and in excellent condition, overall. The binding is tight, both covers and all interior pages are intact. The interior pages have no rips, creases or writing on them. The exterior of the catalog is in very good shape, with very minor evidence of wear to the edges and ends of the covers.
Note: It would have been impossible for me to scan any of the interior plates without changing the condition of the catalog. The image I have used in my listing is from the front cover and shows a detail from a Tiffany Studios "Pond Lily" Leaded Glass and Bronze Table Lamp from c. 1910 (Lot # 10).
