Description
Ravenscliff at St. Davids, Pennsylvania was built in 1904 for William Townsend Wright. He was the president of the Rio Grande & Eagle Pass Railroad. Shortly after its completion he gave it as a wedding present to his son William Coxe Wright and his wife Charlotte Dorrance Wright.
Charlotte died in 1977 whereupon the contents were sold and the land subdivided for new homes.
The accumulation of antiques and artwork is astounding. Porcelains, masterpiece oil paintings, furniture, statuary, crystal, clocks, chandeliers, the finest silver and more were auctioned during this four day event from June 5 through June 8, 1978.
The catalog was required for entrance to the auction. The catalog has over 300 un-numbered pages. It measures 10 by 7 3/4 inches and is 3/4 inches thick. Many pictures of the items in black and white. An index in the front and six pages of price estimates in the back.
The covers of the catalog have scratches and some soiling. The interior pages are fine. Included is a piece of paper which is an addendum to the estimated price list for furs. It has been written on.
Payment is by Money Order, Bank or personal checks or credit card by Moneybookers only. No Paypal.
