Chrysocolla Malachite Stabilized Rough Rock Slab Polished Stone
Gorgeous piece of Chrysocolla Malachite! It has been slabbed and polished on one side. This small slab can be left as a specimen or pocket rock or recut into a cabochon.
Chrysocolla and Malachite are copper ores and Arizona is the leading copper producing state. This material was found in the Bagdad Copper Mine in Arizona. This mine is still operating, but it is believed that the oxide zones that produce this material are all played out.
This material is known for being hard to cut, but this chunk is stabilized (soaked in a resin) for easy cutting! It is 1.5 inches long by almost 1 inch wide and 6 mm thick. #3
Chrysocolla is known as a healing stone among Native American Indian cultures where it was used for strengthening the body's resistance and bringing about calm feelings where there is upset.
Chrysocolla is named from the Greek chrysos - "gold" and kolla - "glue" in allusion to the name of the material used to solder gold. Malachite is is named for the Greek word for "mallow", a green herb.
Metaphysical Properties: Chrysocolla is associated with serenity, tranquility, peace, patience, tolerance, acceptance, uncondional love, meditation, calmness, hope gentleness and sensitivity. Malachite is said to assist you in changing situations. A great soothing combination!
