This lovely Traveling gown is crafted from a beautiful Almond wool and Black brushed cotton accents. It features a trimmed dust hem, skirted peplum and Derby sleeves. The skirt features double stack pleating into a true waistband (not a drawstring).  It has a period closure of Hook & Loop.

Construction: Underlining was used in the 19th Century for body rather than today's method of hiding seams. An invisible method is used to prevent the fraying of the raw edges.

Bodices from the 19th Century are designed to be worn snug and over a corset (it will not fit properly, if at all, without one)

All trims are made by hand in period fashion from either the same or coordinating fabrics. Imported Laces such as Cluny are sometimes used as well.

All Hook & Loop Closures are individually (and painstakingly) sewn on each garment in period fashion (no pre-made strips).
