1864 POKER DECK

Civil War, American History, Playing Card and Poker fans will all enjoy this special deck of cards reproduced from an original 1864 deck made by L.I. Cohen of New York. These were the cards of choice by gamblers of the day!
The original wrapper had a tax stamp from June 2nd, 1864 and is included on the box. The deck is a standard deck of 52, plus the blue Ace of Spades that came with the original deck.
Decks from the Civil War era did not have indices (numerals) on the corners of the numbered cards, and the court cards feature full length figures.
Also included are 2 story cards giving the history of this deck, and the manufacturer, L.I. Cohen, who's company is one of the ancestors of the United States Playing Card Co.
