Irridescent Plum Taffeta & Black Velvet Ball Gown USA Quality Vintage Custom Designer label ! Perfect for Victorian Southern Belle ball gown, Cinderella, Princess costume..... Theater or Halloween. Top quality glistening Taffeta with hues of black, accenting the plush black velvet bodice. This is not a cheaply made foreign costume, but a deluxe, quality vintage formal gown! Custom made Labeled "Faythe Dornink ~ Des Moines Iowa" Extremely well tailored with top quality taffeta & plush velvet. This gleaming plum or eggplant colored, gown features a very flattering, black velvet, rounded grecian basque waistline bodice and full skirt giving an hourglass profile. Sweetheart necklined, black velvet bodice with a scoop back. Bodice features back, bust & side boning to keep that sleek profile all night. Long velvet sleeves are gathered at shoulders & can be worn on/off shoulders as desired. Black satin lines the bodice with all seams finished or closed. A wide fan bow accents the back. Attached taffeta skirt is tightly gathered to waistline for a magnificant sweep. The taffeta seems to change color & russels with every move! Shown with a 6 bone hoop & necklace, not included in this auction. Though the gown appears very clean, it should be cleaned to freshen, as it has been stored for years. Structurally very sound. Immaculate tailoring. No stains, holes, fading, seam separations or tears found. I can not express how beautiful the plum taffeta is & how plush the black velvet feels.
