Here is a original Union morgan Raiders Receipt.This was used by the Union army as they were trying to catch Morgans raiders.They would issue these as receipt towards payment for what ever item they deemed needed in pursuit of Morgans raiders.This is for a horse taken from a John Miller of East Springfield in Jefferson county,Ohio.They valued the horse at $ 85.00.Has jefferson county Notory seal twice on document.Also has a blue 10 cent Washington Internal revenue stamp that has been hand cancelled with a "x" thru stamp.Dated july 27th 1863 as to when animal was taken by troops led by General Shuckelford.Document notarized sept 9th 1864 for the claim of value on horse.Overall in good condition.Does have a small whole and small pc missing from left edge.Can be plainly seen in pics.A great pc of history.
