USA MEMORY FOAM
|
|
As a bricks-and-mortar retailer, the scrutiny that our products face is more intense than internet-only retailers. At the core of our family-owned company is a father and three brother's commitment to keeping our customers happy. We take an honest down-to-earth approach to delivering quality beds for an affordable price.
Internet-based companies typically compete against each other for the lowest price. If every company sold the exact same product, it would make sense to comparison shop based on price alone. The reality is that not all memory foam is created equal. Materials and workmanship play a huge role in the comfort and lifespan of a foam mattress.
The best way to meet our goals is with quality products. All of our beds are Made In America with materials that are entirely American made. For descriptions of all of our beds, please be sure to check out our Memory Foam Products page.

MEMORY FOAM BUYING GUIDE
This guide exposes common tricks that are used to mislead people who are not educated about Memory Foam.
|
TRICK 1: CONCEALING WHERE THE FOAM IS MADE |
|
Memory foam is typically made in the United States or China. Initially, imported beds may look and feel the same, but differences in the quality may be evident in the first six to eighteen months. As the foam breaks down, the bed gets softer and people often complain that it feels like they're sleeping in a hole.
Companies who sell Chinese foam rarely reveal where their foam is made. The majority of these mattresses are distributed by importers in Los Angeles.
There are also companies in New York and Maryland who import both fully assembled mattresses and sheets of foam called cores. With the foam cores, they assemble mattresses in their factories and print "Manufactured In The USA" on their labels. When considering a mattress, it's always important to ask where the foam is made.
These companies don't own overseas factories where they can control the quality. Importers choose factories based on the cheapest price. The factories are constantly changing their products. Workers could be making tooth brushes one week and memory foam mattresses the next, which is the first factor that leads to inconsistent quality.
The second factor is materials. Some factories are willing to cut corners. Memory foam is sold by weight and it's possible to use fillers to increase the weight. Some of these fillers may be toxic like the lead paint used on toys and the tainted pharmaceuticals recently produced in Chinese factories. An importer has no idea what materials or chemicals a factory uses in its attempt to cut costs.

TRICK 2: IS THE IN-HOME TRIAL RISK FREE?
|
|
To avoid the risks of most company's return policies, ask these questions up front:
- Do you have a return policy?
- Exactly how much will it cost to return the bed?
With our Risk-Free 90 Day Trial, our buyers pay a flat fee and are not responsible for any shipping costs.

|
TRICK 3: LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING |
The overall height of a mattress should never be used as a basis for comparison. The comparison needs to be based on the actual amount and density of the memory foam.
For arguments sake, we break down the 10" Mattress of one of our competitors.
- Question: How many inches of memory foam does your mattress contain?
- Answer: There are 3" memory foam.
In this example they used thicker base foam to increase the height. This mattress should be compared with other mattresses that are only built with 3" memory foam.
|
TRICK 4: THE NAME OF A MATTRESS MAY BE MISLEADING
|
|
Misleading product descriptions are sometimes used to conceal the density of memory foam. Sellers add irrelevant numbers like 5.5 and 6.0 to the names of their beds. The memory foam may only be 4lb density, but because people see the number 6.0 they believe that they're getting 6lb density foam.
For years, we've followed one Florida company who sells American made foam for Chinese made prices. They constantly think of new and creative ways to mislead people with their descriptions. They use the number 5.3 and term 5.3lb Memory Foam in a variety of ways, but never actually state that their foam is 5.3lb Density Memory Foam. When you check this company's website, their beds contain 4lb Density Memory Foam, which proves that their goal is to mislead Ebay users.

TRICK 5: JIGSAW PUZZLE FOUNDATIONS |
Build-It-Yourself Foundations take time to put together because of all the nuts, bolts, and wood slats. They also require long-term maintenance as the bolts need tightening. These foundations usually indicate that the seller's mattresses are not sold in retail stores.
There's no guarantee that Build-It-Yourself Foundations will last as long as your mattress. Depending on the quality of the foundation, it may shorten the lifespan of your mattress. Memory foam beds are intended to be used on smooth surfaces with solid support. Build-It-Yourself Foundations require mattresses to sit directly on wood slats. Over time the base foam may take the shape of the wood slats, causing the mattress to sag.
Our foundations cost about the same price and do not require assembly.
