THIS ONE IS AN OPEN BOX ITEM -it was used as a demo unit in several studios for testing. It therefore cannot be sold as new. We are letting it go with a low reserve. This is the only open box item we have for sale at this time. Again this is a lightly USED Cloudlifter in 9.5/10 cosmetic condition. Same warranty applies as a new unit. This little box is an amazing breakthrough. Designed in collaboration with Stephen Sank, read more about the Sank historical connection with RCA online here. You may also know that Stephen Sank is the designer of the new JRS-34 ribbon also by Cloud Microphones. The Cloudlifter uses a similar circuit in their active ribbon mic. Now you can use any low output passive microphone with any phantom powered pre-amp. Whether an M-Box or a Neve, your low output ribbon microphone will sound absolutely brilliant, regardless of the pre.

This device is so sweet! Even with high end preamps, often the noise level is too high when using a low output ribbon microphone. For best results ribbon mic pres usually need at least 75db of gain for a relatively quiet sound source. Now it is not necessary to seek out such a pre, the Cloudlifter is a workhorse for ribbon mics and gives you the flexibility of being compatible with just about any microphone input device.
