This is a collection of 26 out of 27 - Volume V is missing - of The Music Of The Modern World, compiled and edited by Anton Seidl, and published in 1895. This set is a classic musical history marathon using all the arts to bring music to life. Found in amongst household 'box lots' at an estate sale, we didn't know that this collection existed until we began to do the research on this one. These are paperbound, measuring 16" tall and 12" wide, and their condition, unfortunately, is fair - poor. The spines on each of the volummes is either completely separated or hanging on by their threads. Both front and back covers have significant dog-earring, but on the whole, are complete. The interiors are in better condition and are quite readable, playable and enjoyable, with some spotty water stains in some volummes. In spite of an unusual page numbering system, text numbered separate from score, it appears to be more or less complete. We have not attempted to tape or mend in any way, but we have been advised that they could be improved by a professional. These need a good, knowledgeable home where they can be appreciated for the treasures they are. Please be advised that this will be a very heavy and somewhat oversized box and media shipping is advised.
SHIPPING NOTE: Due to increasing problems of rough handling by shippers, insurance is highly recommended! We can not be held responsible for breakage in transit. We wrap each item very well - check our feedback - and will continue such. Please note that there are shipping options on the invoice. Buyer to chose whichever best fits the needs.
